Abasca Resources Unveils Maiden Graphite Resource at Loki Flake Deposit
Abasca Resources Inc. announced its first mineral resource estimate for the Loki Flake Graphite Deposit within its Key Lake South Project. This development marks a significant advancement for the project, highlighting a total inferred resource of 11.31 million tonnes of graphite with an average grade of 7.65% Cg, equating to 0.86 million tonnes of contained graphite.
The estimation, involving 20 drill holes from a 2024 program and re-sampled 2016 cores, was conducted by Understood Mineral Resources in compliance with NI-43-101 standards. The Loki Deposit, which remains open at depth and along strike, offers promising future exploration potential. It is strategically located near infrastructure supporting Cameco’s Key Lake operation.
The growing demand for graphite, crucial in electric vehicle and energy storage solutions, amplifies the significance of this resource. Abasca aims for resource expansion and potential contribution to North America's secure graphite supply chain.
