With the rapid expansion of AI computing, increasing electrification, and a surge in renewable energy, there's renewed interest in integrating DC technology into future electrical systems. The report suggests that both AC and DC systems hold crucial roles in addressing future electricity demands.

According to the report, the future of power distribution will not solely rely on AC. DC technology is gaining prominence, especially in facilities where major energy sources operate natively on direct current. As renewable technologies like solar systems and electric vehicles scale, minimizing power conversion steps could significantly enhance efficiency and support grid integration.

Data centers, driven by AI workloads, are identified as key drivers for DC adoption. The report highlights 800 VDC distribution as a fundamental architecture for future AI infrastructures, enhancing energy efficiency and compute capacity.
