ABIVAX: Positive results for obefazimod in refractory ulcerative colitis

ABIVAX has announced positive results from Part 2 of its ABTECT maintenance trial. Obefazimod, an oral modulator, demonstrated significant benefits in patients with refractory ulcerative colitis. At week 44, 37.2% of treated patients achieved clinical remission.

Increasing the dose to 50 mg enabled 45.5% of relapsed patients to achieve remission. Safety analyses show that cancer incidence rates remain within expected limits for this population.

These data reinforce the position of obefazimod as a potential therapeutic option, with a view to a marketing authorization application in the United States planned by the end of 2026.
