ABIVAX: Promising results from the ABTECT trial for ulcerative colitis

ABIVAX, a biotechnology company, announced positive results for Part 2 of the ABTECT maintenance trial for obefazimod. This treatment demonstrated a significant clinical benefit in patients with refractory ulcerative colitis.

In this study, 37.2% of patients who did not respond to initial treatment achieved clinical remission by week 44 with a 50 mg dose of obefazimod. Furthermore, 45.5% of patients who relapsed achieved clinical remission after a dose increase.

Safety data show cancer incidence rates consistent with standards for ulcerative colitis. These results reinforce confidence in the benefit-risk profile of obefazimod, as ABIVAX prepares a marketing authorization application in the United States.
