ABO Energy Sells Greek Subsidiary to HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings
On July 2, 2025, ABO Energy announced the sale of its subsidiary ABO Energy Hellas S.A. to HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings. This transaction includes employees and a portfolio of projects in solar, battery, and wind worth around 1.5 gigawatts. The purchase price remains undisclosed, and the sale is not expected to significantly impact ABO Energy's fiscal year 2025 earnings.
ABO Energy's Managing Director, Dr. Karsten Schlageter, noted the sale as a strategic move to reduce the group's complexity and enhance focus on other markets, particularly Germany. The Greek subsidiary had contributed notably to ABO Energy's revenue over recent years, mainly in 2020 and 2023.
HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings, a Southeastern European energy leader, aims to expand its renewable energy portfolio, aligning with their objectives to achieve at least 2 gigawatts of installed capacity by 2030.
