Local Investment in Battery Storage System Unveiled in Nürtingen

A new energy investment model has emerged in Nürtingen, Germany, where local utility Stadtwerke Nürtingen GmbH, technology firm ADS-TEC Energy, and the citizens' cooperative BEGiNT have come together to invest in a large-scale battery storage system. This initiative involves a 10 MWh capacity and 5 MW output system, set to be installed at the Stadtwerke Nürtingen site.

The system aims to capitalize on electricity market price fluctuations while promoting efficient renewable energy integration and mitigating peak load pressures on the local grid. Michael Rudloff, COO of ADS-TEC Energy, highlights the dual role of the company as both a technology provider and investor. This partnership illustrates the potential of regional collaboration to enhance the energy transition.
