ADS-TEC Energy Nears Permit for Major European Battery Storage Project
ADS-TEC Energy GmbH announced all documents for its battery energy storage project at Pulverdingen substation are complete, with a building permit expected soon. Set to have a power output of around 1 GW and storage capacity of 4 GWh, this facility aims to be one of Europe's largest battery storage systems.
The plant will enhance grid stability and resilience for Baden-Württemberg. European industrial partners, equipped with ADS-TEC's proprietary technology, are integral to the development. The grid connection is targeted for 2029, with ADS-TEC planning to sell a majority stake but remain a key long-term partner.
With estimated revenues between EUR 150,000 and 250,000 per megawatt annually, the project underscores Europe's capability to plan and operate critical infrastructure.
