African School of Governance Launches in Kigali
The African School of Governance (ASG) has officially launched in Kigali, Rwanda on January 14, 2025. Co-founded by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and former Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn of Ethiopia, ASG aims to nurture ethical leaders equipped to address Africa’s socio-economic challenges. The school focuses on innovative public policy education and research tailored to African values.
ASG's inaugural event featured leaders from various sectors discussing public policy’s impact on Africa’s development. The institution plans to enroll over 100 students in its Master and Executive Master of Public Administration programs, aiming to cultivate leaders who innovate and reform policies.
ASG’s curriculum blends global standards with African insights, empowering students to lead transformative governance. It seeks to produce 2,000 graduates in five years, contributing to Africa’s sustainable development goals.
