AFYREN and Südzucker Renew Strategic Bioeconomy Partnership

AFYREN and Südzucker AG celebrate five years of collaboration in sustainable bioeconomy. The partners have agreed to extend their partnership, aiming to support Europe’s transition to a circular, low-carbon economy. They have established a new value chain for sustainable, biobased products in Europe through AFYREN NEOXY, transforming sugar by-products into biobased carboxylic acids.

The partnership aligns with the EU's AFTER-BIOCHEM initiative, enhancing Europe's bioeconomy. Securing local biobased feedstock remains crucial. AFYREN CEO Nicolas Sordet highlights the importance of this collaboration in securing raw materials and expanding biobased value chains.

By repurposing sugar beet co-products, Südzucker reduces reliance on petroleum derivatives, diversifying its product portfolio. AFYREN and Südzucker aim to foster sustainable agricultural practices and enhance the European bioeconomy.
