AGC Vinythai Expands Chlor-Alkali Plant with thyssenkrupp nucera's Technology

AGC Vinythai has launched increased operations at its chlor-alkali plant in Map Ta Phut, Thailand, marking the largest investment in the company's history. The expansion leverages thyssenkrupp nucera's e-BiTAC v7 technology, significantly enhancing the plant's annual capacity by 220,000 tons of caustic soda.

This move doubles AGC Vinythai’s PVC production ability from 300,000 to 700,000 tons per year. The expansion is driven by rising demand for caustic soda and PVC in Southeast Asia, essential for industries like construction and automotive.

thyssenkrupp nucera's CEO, Keisho Cho, highlighted the project as a milestone, emphasizing benefits like optimized energy use and reduced membrane stress. The project included basic engineering and other system integrations beyond the electrolyzer supply.
