AGRANA Reports Earnings Decline in First Quarter of 2025/26
AGRANA Beteiligungs-Aktiengesellschaft has announced a notable decline in earnings for the first quarter of the 2025/26 financial year. Operating profit, or EBIT, fell sharply to €5.7 million compared to the previous year's €32.3 million. Revenue showed a decline of 6.8%, totaling €880.2 million. This downturn is largely attributed to weak performance in the sugar sector and restructuring expenses in Austria and the Czech Republic.
Despite these challenges, AGRANA's new strategy, NEXT LEVEL, aims to enhance its Food & Beverage Solutions segment. The company has acquired full ownership of AUSTRIA JUICE GmbH to integrate beverage and flavor businesses more closely and explore new markets. Nonetheless, the ACS – Sugar segment recorded a €29.5 million deficit, mainly due to reduced sugar prices.
AGRANA maintains its full-year EBIT forecast, expecting stable performance. The company plans to implement strategic measures to achieve €50 million in savings, though these will not completely offset negative trends in the sugar segment.
