AGRANA Secures Long-Term Agreement with Sugar Beet Growers

AGRANA Beteiligungs-Aktiengesellschaft has successfully finalized a long-term agreement with the sugar beet growers' association for the next three years. This pivotal agreement comes amidst challenging market conditions, characterized by persistently low sugar prices. The new pricing model, developed through constructive negotiations, addresses current market realities.

AGRANA CEO, Stephan Büttner, emphasized the agreement's significance for securing sugar production in Austria, providing planning certainty for farmers and strengthening collaboration with beet growers. The agreement reinforces AGRANA's role as a reliable buyer and partner in the trading and industrial sectors.

The contracting for the 2026 growing season will commence early next year. Meanwhile, the Tulln sugar mill's processing campaign, which started in September, is nearing completion with 95% of beets processed by November.
