Air Liquide Invests 200 Million Euros in Japan for AI Chip Production
Air Liquide is set to invest 200 million euros in Japan, under a new long-term agreement. This venture involves constructing two state-of-the-art industrial gas production units in Hiroshima. These units will support a global leader in the semiconductor industry, specifically for the production of next-generation AI chips. The facilities are planned to be operational by 2028, supplying ultra-pure nitrogen, oxygen, and argon essential for advanced chip manufacturing.
With this investment, Air Liquide enhances its presence in Japan, underlining its commitment to meeting the demands of the growing semiconductor industry. The Group's existing infrastructure, including 78 facilities and an Advanced Materials Center in Tsukuba, bolsters this initiative. This strategic move solidifies Air Liquide as a key partner in the semiconductor sector, particularly within the Asian market.
