AKWEL's quarterly revenue declines in the first quarter of 2026
AKWEL, a player in the automotive equipment sector, recorded a decline in revenue in the first quarter of 2026. With €206.8 million in revenue, the company posted a decrease of 19.1% compared to the previous year. On a like-for-like basis, this decrease reached 16.2%, impacted by an unfavorable exchange rate effect of €7.4 million, particularly with regard to the US dollar.
Revenue in the EMEA region fell by 22.5%, while revenue in the Americas declined by 13.8%. In contrast, Asia saw a slight increase of 1.8%. Despite these mixed results, AKWEL's net cash position stood at €104.2 million, rising to €145.1 million when term deposits are included.
The group anticipates a further decline of 12 to 15% in revenue for the year 2026. The sector continues to face economic and automotive production challenges.
