Alstom presented its preliminary results for the first half of fiscal year 2026/27, marked by execution difficulties in Europe, particularly related to the Coradia Max platform. Orders reached €11 billion, but the group posted revenue of €9.3 billion, a modest increase of 3%. The adjusted operating margin fell to approximately -4%.

The outlook for the fiscal year has been adjusted, with revenue growth expected to be limited to between 2% and 4%, and an operating margin of around 1%. Alstom plans to produce approximately 4,000 cars, down from initial forecasts, and anticipates negative free cash flow of €1.5 billion.

To rectify the situation, Alstom is implementing initiatives to improve project execution and is planning a debt reduction plan of around 2 billion euros by September 2027.
