Alstom Secures Financial Close for Haifa-Nazareth Light Rail Project
Alstom, alongside its consortium partners, has reached a significant milestone by achieving financial close for Israel's Haifa-Nazareth light rail project. This marks a crucial step towards the full-scale execution of the project, valued at approximately €2 billion. Alstom's share, estimated at €750 million, includes rolling stock and long-term maintenance.
Expected to serve around 100,000 passengers daily, the 41-kilometre light rail line will connect Haifa, Nazareth, and surrounding areas through 20 stations. This development aims to enhance regional connectivity, reduce road congestion, and lower emissions.
The project is a result of collaboration between the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety, the Ministry of Finance, Trans Israel, and consortium partners. Alstom, Electra Ltd., and Minrav Ltd. will deliver various project phases, with operations and maintenance handled by joint ventures.
