Amarc Resources Unveils $15 Million Budget for Copper-Gold Exploration at JOY District
Amarc Resources Ltd. has outlined a $15 million exploration budget for 2026, targeting the JOY Copper-Gold District in British Columbia. The program, fully funded by Freeport-McMoRan, aims to expand the AuRORA deposit and explore the TWINS discovery. Both projects will be supported by extensive drilling and surveying initiatives.
Significant resources will be deployed, including a 70-person camp and multiple drill rigs and helicopters. Focus will be on step-out drilling around the AuRORA and TWINS sites. Plans are underway for assessing additional deposit targets within the PIL area.
The TWINS site indicates large-scale porphyry mineralization, with impressive past drill results resembling those from the Kemess East deposit. Freeport's commitment underlines the strategic importance of the area, reflecting growing interest from major mining entities.
