Analysis of VINCI's April 2026 Traffic Trends
In April 2026, VINCI Autoroutes experienced a decline in intercity traffic, with an overall reduction of 5% compared to April 2025. Light vehicle traffic was down 6%, attributed to increased fuel prices following a Middle East crisis. Conversely, heavy vehicle traffic rose by 1.1%, maintaining a positive trajectory due to France's strong manufacturing output.
VINCI Airports saw a nuanced performance across its global network. Overall passenger traffic slightly decreased by 1.2% in April, but the year-to-date figures show a 0.8% increase. Notable growth occurred in Serbia and the Dominican Republic, with increases of 7.2% and 11%, respectively. However, Japan and Cambodia reported declines of 7% and 8.2% in passenger numbers.
Commercial movements at VINCI Airports dropped by 3.6% in April, but some regions like Costa Rica and Cabo Verde showed strong growth, recording increases of 23% and 12%, respectively.
