Arkema Inaugurates Advanced Acrylic Acid Purification Unit
Arkema has launched a new acrylic acid purification unit in Carling, France, featuring an innovative process. This development positions Arkema among Europe's top competitive players and aids in the decarbonization of the chemical industry. The unit, representing a €150 million investment, is part of Arkema's broader decarbonization program, potentially reaching €400 million by 2030.
The inauguration was attended by Thierry Le Hénaff, Arkema's CEO, and Stéphane Séjourné from the European Commission. Le Hénaff emphasized the project's role in Arkema's ambitious climate goals, while Séjourné highlighted its significance for European industrial sovereignty.
The Carling site, a leading European acrylic production facility, benefits from enhanced energy efficiency and reduced carbon intensity. It aligns with high environmental standards, bolstering Arkema's position in low-carbon acrylic materials.
