Revolution Wind Challenges Lease Suspension Order in Court

Revolution Wind LLC, a joint venture of Skyborn Renewables and Ørsted, has filed a supplemental complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The lawsuit challenges the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management's lease suspension order from December 2025, arguing potential harm to the Revolution Wind Project.

The project has invested billions and secured all necessary federal and state permits after thorough consultations, including with the Department of Defense. Now 87% complete, the project is poised to deliver power to over 350,000 homes in 2026, contributing to grid reliability and energy demand solutions in the Northeast.

Revolution Wind has created thousands of jobs and made significant contributions to the U.S. economy. Despite its progress, the lease suspension challenges its timeline and economic contributions. Ørsted's commitment to American energy infrastructure continues as it navigates the legal landscape.
