Artprice unveils its 33rd Contemporary Art Market Report 2026
Artprice has published its annual report on the contemporary art market for 2026, revealing a market in transformation. The report notes a 41% increase in sales revenue for global fine art, primarily driven by modern and post-war works. Contemporary art shows a modest recovery of 6% in value and 9% in volume. However, the segment of artists under 40 has experienced a notable decline.
The United States stands out with a major share of the growth in value, although this was heavily influenced by the sale of Basquiat paintings. China, on the other hand, saw an 18% decline in sales. In Europe, France posted a 22% increase.
