Asador Etxebarri Tops World's 50 Best Restaurants 2026
The esteemed restaurant Asador Etxebarri in Atxondo, Spain, has been crowned the best restaurant in the world for 2026. The announcement was made during the unveiling of The 50 Best Restaurants 2026 list in Lima, Peru, with sponsorship from S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna.
Chef-owner Victor Arguinzoniz leads the restaurant in perfecting Basque wood-fire cooking, offering a 14-course menu that transforms simple ingredients into culinary masterpieces. Global recognition was given at the event hosted at Teatro Municipal de Lima.
New entrants and returning establishments have shaken up the rankings, with 11 newcomers and five re-entrants. Gaggan in Bangkok and Alchemist in Copenhagen followed Asador Etxebarri, securing second and third place respectively.
