Commerzbank Announces Share Buyback and Dividend for 2024
Commerzbank has approved a new share buyback program, following solid financial results in the 2024 fiscal year. The bank recorded a preliminary net result of €2.68 billion, buoyed by strong net interest and commission income, alongside some valuation impacts in the fourth quarter.
Based on its net profit of €2.44 billion, post-regulatory AT1 deductions, the bank plans to distribute 71% of its earnings. This will be executed by a share buyback of up to €400 million, commencing after the fiscal year report, and expected to conclude by the Annual General Meeting in mid-May 2025.
Additionally, a dividend of €0.65 per share is proposed to reach the total payout ratio of 71%. Post-distribution, Commerzbank's CET1 ratio stands at 15.1%.
