Barista Excellence Showcased at Julius Meinl Cup in Vienna
On September 4, Vienna hosted the Julius Meinl Barista Cup Grand Finale 2026 at MuseumsQuartier. Barista Champions from 15 countries competed in Espresso, Cappuccino, and Signature Drink categories. Moldova's Elizaveta Rîmscaia was crowned Overall Champion 2026. Individual category winners included Stefan Kot from Poland for Espresso, Austria's Mario Benetseder for Cappuccino, and Luka Darispanashvili from Georgia for Signature Drink.
The competition, marked by creativity and expertise, attracted over 350 applicants, with 15 finalists. The event was open to the public for the first time, drawing thousands of visitors eager for a taste of coffee culture. Winners were awarded a trip to India to explore coffee origins, enhancing their understanding of the coffee value chain.
