Barton Gold Expands Resources at Challenger Gold Project
Barton Gold Holdings Limited has announced an update to its Mineral Resources Estimate (MRE) at the Challenger Gold Project in South Australia. The JORC 2012 report now indicates a growth to 223,000 ounces of gold, with 81,200 ounces contained in high-grade open pit zones.
The company plans to utilize economically viable gold mineralisation sources near Central Gawler Mill for Stage 1 mill feed, targeting feasibility studies by the end of 2025 and operations by 2026. Barton is also considering reprocessing Tailings Storage Facility 1, which could provide further high-grade gold extraction opportunities.
Barton’s Managing Director highlighted the opportunity to move towards operations with lower cost and risk, supported by rising gold prices. Feasibility analyses are expected to guide the preferred development pathway for initial operations scheduled for 2026.
