Barton Gold Launches High-Resolution Gravity Survey at Challenger Site
Barton Gold Holdings Limited has initiated a high-resolution airborne gravity survey around its Challenger Gold Project in South Australia. The survey focuses on the northern portion of EL 6502, the location of the Challenger Gold Mine. The initiative aims to identify gravity anomalies that resemble structures associated with Challenger's high-grade gold lodes.
The company has enlisted Xcalibur Smart Mapping to conduct the FALCON survey, encompassing about 3,200 line kilometers. The gathered data is expected to enhance the understanding of the regional structural setting, potentially uncovering analogous geological settings lacking surface geochemical signals.
Challenger Gold Mine has a history of producing approximately 1.2 million ounces of gold from 2002 to 2018. With existing infrastructure, new findings could significantly bolster local exploration efforts. The project is part of Barton's broader R&D strategies to exploit historically under-explored terrains.
