Tunkillia Project Shows Efficiency Gains in Barton Gold's Scoping Study Update
Barton Gold Holdings Limited has released an update demonstrating significant progress in its Optimised Scoping Study (OSS) for the Tunkillia Gold Project in South Australia. The study, initiated in November 2024, aims to improve economic viability, reduce power consumption, and mitigate project risks. Key findings include substantial processing efficiency gains through completed comminution testwork and scenario analyses.
The initial scoping study from July 2024 showed the potential for producing approximately 130,000 ounces of gold annually at a competitive cost. The continued OSS involves updated mineral resources estimates, power options analyses, and other optimization efforts, with completion slated for June 2025.
Preliminary results indicate reduced work indices and power use across materials, especially for early operations with softer oxide materials. These efficiency gains are pending verification by an independent consultancy. Managing Director Alexander Scanlon highlighted the project's focus on achieving cost savings and reducing energy dependency.
