Bastei Lübbe Reports Sustained Revenue Growth in Q1 2026/2027
Bastei Lübbe AG, a publishing group listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, has announced continued revenue growth for its 2026/2027 financial year despite challenging conditions in the German book market. Group revenues reached EUR 24.6 million between April and June 2026, resulting in a 4.4% EBIT margin.
CEO Soheil Dastyari highlighted improved profitability over the previous quarter, driven by strong performances from both new and established imprints. Revenue from the “Book” segment rose to EUR 22.9 million, with notable contributions from bestselling titles like Florian Illies' "Träume aus Feuer" and Lucy Astner's "Kein Sommer ohne August". Conversely, the “Novel Booklets” segment saw revenues increase slightly to EUR 1.7 million.
Increased printing and staffing costs were noted, yet the forecast for the full year 2026/2027 remains at EUR 118-122 million in revenue and EUR 10.0-12.0 million in EBIT, indicating steady profitability improvements since the end of 2025/2026.
