Battery X Metals Advances with New Solvent, Boosts Graphite and Oxide Recovery
Battery X Metals Inc. has announced a procedural milestone involving a collaboration with a Global Top 20 University. The company’s eco-friendly flotation process for recycling battery materials shows promising results with a new solvent. The trials conducted with this solvent led to a 26.5% to 31.5% increase in oxide recovery and a 5.5% to 6.3% rise in graphite purity. This enhancement from prior results signifies a significant step toward optimizing lithium-ion battery recycling.
The research used unoxidized samples, achieving 48.10% oxide recovery and 73.0% graphite purity. Graphite recovery was stable at 97%, and oxide purity at approximately 90%. The flotation time remained between 5-7 minutes, indicating consistent efficacy. These results suggest the new solvent efficiently improves the separation process, crucial for high-purity output.
This advancement aims to address challenges in recovering battery-grade materials while supporting a sustainable recycling process. Battery X Metals continues controlled trials to further optimize the use of the new solvent in refining their proprietary technology.
