Befesa Reports Strong Q1 Performance with EBITDA Growth Amid Revenue Decline

Befesa S.A. reported a solid start to 2026, despite an 8% year-on-year revenue decline to €285 million. This decrease was attributed to weaker aluminium segment performance and adverse exchange rates. However, adjusted EBITDA rose by 4% to €58 million, driven by improved operating costs and strong performance in the U.S. Zinc prices and cost control bolstered earnings, leading to a net profit increase of 11% to €21 million.

The company achieved a higher operating cash flow of €38 million and improved net leverage to x2.25, progressing towards its target of x2.0. Looking ahead, Befesa projects full-year EBITDA between €250 million and €270 million, with growth supported by U.S. volumes and a recovery in the aluminium segment. The ongoing Bernburg expansion is expected to continue aiding company growth.
