Beneteau's Q1 2025 Sales Decline Amid Uncertain Market Conditions

Stock price chart of BENETEAU (EPA:BEN) showing fluctuations.

For the first quarter of 2025, Groupe Beneteau reported revenues of €130 million, a decrease of 43% compared to the same period last year. The decline is attributed to reduced demand across boat markets and inventory reductions within the distribution network. Additionally, uncertainty regarding tariffs in the U.S. compounded these challenges, affecting both the sailing and motor boat segments.

Despite the revenue drop, Beneteau maintained a strong net cash position of €240 million at the end of March. The company expects the financial year to improve in the second half with the launch of 20 new models. These launches are essential for fortifying Beneteau's premium market positioning and revitalizing its entry-level offerings.

Beneteau highlighted the negative impact of reduced demand from professional charter firms, particularly in Greece, due to the end of subsidy programs. The Group remains cautious but optimistic, anticipating a gradual recovery as market conditions stabilize and improve.
