BIO-UV Group at the heart of the LIFE ReWa project for the reuse of wastewater in Montpellier
The LIFE ReWa project, led by Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, aims to produce 110,000 cubic meters of recycled water per year. BIO-UV Group, in partnership with Chemdoc Water Technologies, is integrating its UV-C RW reactor into the mobile treatment unit for this initiative. This collaboration is part of a European effort, funded by various entities, to transform treated wastewater into a reusable resource for agricultural, urban, and industrial uses. The mobile unit's mission is to refine disinfection and ultrafiltration processes in order to diversify the applications of recycled water.
Salvador Pérez, from Chemdoc, highlights the exemplary role of the REWA project truck, which is testing different configurations to meet the diverse requirements of drinking water. Thanks to this project, Montpellier could increase its use of recycled water, a currently underutilized resource.
