Biophytis Establishes Joint Venture in Asia
Biophytis SA, a company known for its work on therapies affecting longevity, has officially registered its joint venture in Hong Kong. This move is part of Biophytis' strategy to enhance its presence across Asia and focuses on the development and commercialization of BIO101, primarily targeting sarcopenia treatment.
Chairman and CEO Stanislas Veillet emphasizes that this milestone is crucial in executing their strategic agreement in Asia. The joint venture aims to address significant unmet medical needs in Asia and Europe. After registration, the operation will involve transferring Biophytis' intellectual property and a $3 million investment by Asian partners to initiate clinical preparations.
The funding will support trial preparation in Asia, including authorizations and clinical centers in China and Japan. With a funding plan of up to $20 million over three years, the joint venture is set to begin operations in July 2026.
