BioVersys Announces Half-Year 2026 Results

BioVersys AG, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, reported its half-year 2026 results, highlighting significant progress in its R&D programs. The BV100 pivotal RIV-TARGET global Phase 3 trial is actively recruiting, following the First Patient First Visit in April. Meanwhile, the alpibectir Phase 2b/c trial for pulmonary tuberculosis, in partnership with GSK, commenced in March 2026, with trials for meningeal TB set to begin later this year.

Financially, BioVersys reported a cash position of CHF 69.3 million as of June 30, 2026, with guidance indicating operational funding into 2028. The company incurred an operating loss of CHF 14.6 million, primarily due to increased R&D expenses driven by accelerated clinical activities. Despite this, guidance for 2026 projects a reduced operating loss and an increased cash forecast year-end.

Overall, the company continues to focus on advancing its pipeline while maintaining financial discipline, aiming to address the significant unmet needs for treatments against resistant bacterial infections.
