BlackBerry Celebrates First Anniversary of Malaysia Cybersecurity Center
BlackBerry Limited has marked the first anniversary of the Malaysia Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCoE) with significant initiatives aimed at enhancing the nation's cybersecurity workforce. New scholarships and partnerships have been introduced to support diversity and skill development in this sector.
Among the new measures, BlackBerry is offering scholarships for women, students, and individuals with limited educational opportunities. This initiative aims to upskill a diverse group of locals and promote inclusion. Additionally, BlackBerry is set to launch EC Council Learning, a self-paced platform for government employees.
The CCoE was envisaged as a global hub for cybersecurity training and has seen over 40% female participation. This positive trend is further supported by BlackBerry's partnership with ISC2 Malaysia Chapter, offering 50 scholarships for women seekers of specialized training.
The company also partnered with Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad to introduce the CyberNext Program, starting July. This initiative will provide free cybersecurity training to 1,000 students and 250 lecturers, reflecting a commitment to boosting Malaysia's cybersecurity expertise.
