QNX and AMD Enhance Developer Options with New x86 Platform
QNX, a division of BlackBerry Limited, has announced expanded support for AMD Ryzen Embedded x86 processors with the release of QNX Software Development Platform (SDP) 8.0. This new support enables high-performance, power-efficient applications for automotive, industrial, and medical systems.
The collaboration between QNX and AMD introduces an alternative x86 architecture for real-time embedded systems, particularly valuable for applications demanding high compute performance and graphics capabilities. This initiative aims to address the increasing market demand for efficient workload consolidation and reliable real-time software.
The AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 processor is the first to be supported on QNX SDP 8.0, with more processors to follow. Developers can now utilize a Board Support Package for the Sapphire Edge IPC-FP6 platform, enhancing the possibilities for next-generation applications in automotive digital cockpits, industrial PLCs, and advanced medical imaging devices.
