BNP Paribas is contesting a Swiss court ruling concerning Sudan
BNP Paribas has expressed its disagreement with a decision by the Swiss court of first instance concerning financial transactions linked to Sudan. According to the bank, the court made serious errors by failing to take into account applicable Swiss and European laws.
BNP Paribas emphasizes that its arguments are supported by amicus curiae briefs provided by the Swiss and American governments, as well as by academic experts and recognized professional organizations.
The plaintiffs' recent brief offers nothing new, merely repeating arguments already refuted, according to the Bank. BNP Paribas is calmly preparing its response for the Court of Appeal.
