Bybit Secures UAE's First Virtual Asset Platform Operator License
Bybit, the second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume globally, has officially obtained the Virtual Asset Platform Operator License from the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) of the United Arab Emirates. This makes Bybit the first crypto exchange to receive a full license from the SCA, supporting the UAE's ambition to establish itself as a global digital asset hub.
This significant achievement follows several regulatory milestones for Bybit in 2025, including securing a MiCAR license in May and resuming operations in India in September. The full license from the SCA underlines the regulator's confidence in Bybit's security, compliance, and transparency standards.
Under this license, Bybit plans to offer regulated services and establish a regional center in Abu Dhabi, employing over 500 people. This move supports the UAE's goal to become a leader in digital asset regulation and innovation.
