On October 19, 2026, Carrefour stated it had reached an agreement with Colruyt Group to acquire Codifrance. This move sees Carrefour reinforcing its presence in the French convenience food distribution sector. Codifrance serves around 3,100 clients and operates three distribution centers in France. The company reported €307 million in sales for the 2025/26 fiscal year. Carrefour will acquire Codifrance for an enterprise value of €152 million.

This acquisition aligns with the Carrefour 2030 strategy. Carrefour's existing Proxi banner already supports over 1,500 independent retail stores in France. By acquiring Codifrance, Carrefour aims to enhance its convenience retail leadership and bolster support for independent retailers, benefiting from Codifrance's customer base, logistics, and expertise.

The deal awaits the French Competition Authority's approval and other conditions. Completion is anticipated in the first half of 2027.
