Carrefour Successfully Places €500 Million Sustainability-Linked Bond

On April 29, 2025, Carrefour issued a €500 million Sustainability-Linked Bond. This bond aims to cut down greenhouse gas emissions, targeting Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. The bond has a fixed 2.875% annual coupon and will mature in May 2029. It experienced oversubscription by more than four times, showcasing strong investor confidence in Carrefour's financial stability.

The funding will support general corporate purposes and refinancing, including the €1 billion bond with a 2.625% rate. A concurrent capped tender offer accompanies this move. Additionally, Carrefour commenced a partial buyback of a different bond due in December 2027, with the tender ending on May 6, 2025. Standard & Poor's has rated the bond as "BBB".
