Casino fined 40 million euros
The Casino Guichard-Perrachon group was acquitted by the Paris Criminal Court of market manipulation charges, but fined €40 million, €20 million of which was suspended. This decision comes in the context of accusations of private corruption and market manipulation related to events dating back to 2018 and 2019.
Casino is currently examining its options regarding this ruling and is considering an appeal to the Paris Court of Appeal. The company is evaluating its legal options to challenge this partially favorable decision, which includes obligations to pay civil damages.
