Casino Group's Legal Proceedings in Brazil
On April 17, 2026, Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição (GPA) secured a preliminary injunction from a Brazilian court. This injunction temporarily prohibited Casino Guichard-Perrachon from selling its indirect shares in GPA. This move was intended to prevent the disposal of these assets.
However, following Casino's request for a review, the Brazilian court authorized on April 22 the continuation of share sales. This process is to be conducted by Obin Holdings Netherlands B.V., a subsidiary of Casino. The proceeds from these sales are to be held in escrow. Currently, Casino retains a 20.44% indirect ownership in GPA.
Casino plans to appeal the April 17 decision to safeguard its interests in the ongoing proceedings.
