GPA Recovery Plan: Monitored by the Casino Group
On March 10, 2026, the Companiha Brasileria de Distribuiçao (GPA) group announced the signing of an agreement with its main creditors to initiate an out-of-court restructuring plan. The Casino group, which no longer controls GPA since 2024 with a 22.5% stake, continues to monitor these developments.
According to GPA's press release, this plan includes suspending obligations to certain creditors, while establishing a secure 90-day negotiation framework. GPA hopes to gather sufficient support to stabilize its short-term liquidity and ensure its long-term financial viability.
The São Paulo court has approved GPA's request for restructuring proceedings. The Casino group is closely monitoring these developments.
