DWK Deutsche Wasserkraft AG to Develop Hydropower Plants in Norway
On September 15, 2025, DWK Deutsche Wasserkraft AG announced the signing of a framework and service agreement with OdelEnergy AS from Norway. The contract aims to develop small hydropower plants with a total annual output of 95 GWh. The initial phase will involve the construction of up to 15 plants.
This agreement follows a memorandum signed in February 2025 and emphasizes DWK’s strategy to expand its hydropower portfolio, especially in small run-of-river plants. DWK holds the right of first refusal on specific project rights in Southern Norway, while OdelEnergy oversees the design and construction. DWK will ensure financing and project oversight.
The preliminary investment is estimated at EUR 50 million, backed by partner banks. Both firms plan to extend their collaboration for future projects in Norway.
