Charwood Energy Aids Decarbonization of Stellantis La Janais Site
Charwood Energy has announced a significant milestone. Its subsidiary, Energy&+, has partnered with ENGIE Solutions to implement a hot water loop system at the Stellantis La Janais plant, targeting the decarbonization of this facility. The engagement aligns with Stellantis Rennes' ambition to become carbon neutral by 2028.
The project, initiated in 2025 and delivered in the same year, marks the replacement of an old heat network. This includes a new 8 MW biomass boiler and a 3 km distribution network. This setup currently yields 25,000 MWh annually, equating to the energy needs of 3,000 homes and averting 6,650 tons of CO₂ emissions.
Future plans involve expanding the network by 3.5 km, serving 60 more substations, and further reducing natural gas consumption by 30%. The project receives financial support from the ADEME's BCIAT fund, amounting to €3.5 million.
