Chengdu Introduces Direct Flights to Brussels
Air China has initiated a new direct passenger flight from Chengdu to Brussels, effective March 26. This is Chengdu's 12th direct route to Europe, with strong initial demand as the first flight achieved a 95% load factor. Previously, travelers needed over 17 hours to reach Brussels; now, the journey is under 11 hours, enhancing convenience and fostering economic and cultural ties between China and Belgium.
The Chengdu-Brussels route operates thrice weekly with Airbus A330-300 jets. This addition contributes to Chengdu's 19 intercontinental passenger routes, enhancing the city's global connectivity. Increased international flights have boosted Chengdu’s inbound tourism, with a 44.3% rise in visitors in 2025.
Chengdu offers several measures to enhance international travel experiences, including tax refunds, language services, and promotional incentives. Investments in infrastructure and services support its status as a top travel destination, further amplified by its robust economic and trade collaborations.
