2026 Zhongguancun Forum Highlights Cutting-Edge Breakthroughs
On March 30, 2026, China Daily reported significant scientific and technological advancements showcased at the Zhongguancun Forum's closing ceremony. Twenty-one major achievements were highlighted, encompassing areas such as artificial intelligence, aerospace, and healthcare. These breakthroughs emerged from national laboratories, universities, and leading tech companies.
A standout was the high energy photon source, a fourth-generation high-energy synchrotron radiation light source developed by the Institute of High Energy Physics. Described as a "super magnifying glass" and an advanced "X-ray machine," it entered trial operation, marking a significant leap in synchrotron radiation light sources in Asia.
Another key achievement was FlagOS 2.0, an open-source AI computing software by the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence. Supporting over 20 mainstream AI chips, it lays the foundation for scalable applications of domestic computing power, promoting independent growth in AI technology.
