China Leads Electrification Index While US Faces Challenges

According to the latest analysis by We Mean Business Coalition, China is leading the way in electrification, while the US is at risk of losing momentum. The Electrification Competitiveness Index evaluates 16 countries, focusing on electrification delivery and readiness. The report highlights a global implementation gap, with policies outpacing actual deployment in many regions.

China stands out with high deployment supported by strategic investments and incentives. France and Spain also perform well, boasting competitive electricity rates compared to gas. Meanwhile, the US faces potential setbacks due to federal policy changes and infrastructure bottlenecks. With over 2TW of generation and storage pending, the US struggles with grid connection delays.
