Proposed Settlement for TRQ Securities Class Action in Canada

A proposed settlement has been reached in the Canadian class action involving Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd. (TRQ), Rio Tinto, and several individuals. The class action covers securities acquired between July 31, 2018, and July 31, 2019. The settlement awaits approval from the Superior Court of Québec.

The proposed settlement amount is CAD $22,663,980, covering all fees and expenses. Despite denying wrongdoing, the respondents aim to avoid trial costs. Class members include those who purchased TRQ securities outside the U.S. during the class period and held them after July 15, 2019, excluding certain affiliated persons and entities.

The court will address the settlement approval, legal fees, and distribution plan on October 20, 2026. Affected individuals can stay in the action, object to the settlement, or opt-out by specified deadlines.
