Covation Biomaterials Unveils First Plant and Xatryx® Brand

Covation Biomaterials LLC, a player in the bio-based materials sector, has announced the mechanical completion of its first commercial plant in Qidong, Jiangsu Province, China. This facility, dedicated to producing bioTHF and bioPTMEG, introduces the Xatryx® brand—a new range of non-food bioPTMEG products. The development marks a critical step in reducing reliance on fossil fuels, with a production capacity of 50,000 tons annually in its initial phase.

The plant employs a groundbreaking technology, investing RMB 10 billion, aiming for a total capacity of 500,000 tons. BioPTMEG, derived from renewable resources like corncobs, aims to replace fossil-based PTMEG in materials such as spandex and polyurethanes, promising significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

The Xatryx® products will showcase at CHINAPLAS 2026 under the theme of "Transformation - Collaboration - Sustainability." The launch bolsters CovationBio's commitment to innovative, sustainable material solutions.
